I’ve always been wonderfully encouraged by Dr. Mohler’s firm stand for the truth in the face of the culture. He’s an excellent example that true Biblical faith and intellectualism are not only NOT incompatible, but complement one another for rigorous faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I moved to Louisville in 1995 to go to seminary. At that time SBTS was going through a faculty cleansing led by Dr. Mohler. I was surprised how unpopular SBTS was in the media and by the public because of the Dr. Mohler whose ability to weather the storm and his vision for Southern has made this institution stand head and shoulders above the crowd. Being a bi-vocational pastor I have been working on my MDiv for the past eight years. I will be able to finally graduate this December from an institution where it is a strong as ever because of Dr. Mohler’s leadership. I take away an invaluable toolset from SBTS and I shudder to consider what type of pastor I would be or what my toolset would consist of if Dr. Mohler did come to Southern.
I have been tremendously blessed by Dr. Mohler’s unapologetic approach in confronting our culture via his straight forward expositional style of preaching, his blog, and his daily radio show. I look forward to the day very soon when I can sit under his tutelage at SBTS, and begin my journey of honoring the call that the Lord has placed on my life of proclaiming His truth to the world. Grace and peace to you.
Heard Al speak this past March in CA and loved him. He has done great things at SBTS, standing strong.
Dr. Mohler has been a constant encouragement that the heritage of the early Southern Baptist founders is alive and well. Dr. Mohler’s descernment in his teaching should encourage all true Christians. I have enjoyed so much of his work and am always directed back to the Bible.
Dr. Mohler’s radio program and sermons disprove the stereotype regarding Christians that we are a bunch of non-thinking blind sheep who will listen to and believe anything. He is a prime example of a thinker in the Christian faith and conveys his knowledge and insights with grace!
Dr. Mohler is one of the most erudite and insightful thinkers in Evangelicalism today. I value greatly by his concise yet powerful writing on major cultural issues which help me as a pastor. I especially appreciated “He Is Not Silent.” As a pastor it was encouraging to have a critical engagement with postmodernism on the issue of preaching!
I love Dr. Mohler´s blog and radio program. He is a very intelligent man that uses his gifts for the glory of God. One of the things i like is that he deals with “issues that matter“ with “intelligent christian conversations“ as the slogan says. He brings up daily news and explains doctrinally the importance of the subject that is being discussed.
It’s a pleasure to serve under Dr.Mohler at SBTS & a humbling experience to sit under his teaching ministry at chapel:)
Dr. Mohler has been influential in my life as he represents the SBC thoroughly and effectively everyday through his Biblical radio show. He also does so everywhere he goes and personally preaches the Word. He never conforms to the world in the slightest. His ideas and statements are original and God-inspired. I greatly admire Dr. Mohler and his godly leadership has affected me greatly.
I have been blessed by Dr. Mohler’s ministry by his faithfulness at SBTS and the reformation God has brought through him there. My days as a student there were truly a blessing and now, my wife and I (though many miles away from the seminary) still enjoy listening to the radio show in the evenings. As an SBC pastor, he has played a big part in my continued cooperation with the SBC.
I appreciate the ministry of Dr. Mohler in many ways. I enjoy listening to his radio show via podcast. I also listen to his teaching on the PowerLine podcast as well. God has greatly gifted him and used him in these days to present truth to a culture that is truth-resistant. I also appreciated the time I was able to meet him in person while on campus at SBTS in April 2008. Lord willing, I will be on campus in the Fall of 2010!
I have been an avid reader of Dr. Mohler and always enjoy listening to him preach or dialog on the radio. There is no question of his influence on Baptist life and evangelical Christianity as a whole.
Dr. Mohler was a driving force in me choosing Southern Seminary in 1995 and having the opportunity to take a semester of systematic theology with him as the instructor is some thing i do take pride in.
I came to Louisville in 1995 to enroll at Southern. I stayed through an M. Div. and Ph. D. (2004). I found Dr. Mohler to be gracious, devout, evangelistic, and theologically astute. I had the privilege of taking a doctoral seminar under him in theological methodology and getting to know him from the perspective of an officer of two student organizations. Dr. Mohler’s uncompromising stand for the truth is equally matched by his compassion for a world lost and in need of the Savior. His vision for Southern as a school that magnifies the grace of God for the salvation of the nations is an inspiration to the Evangelical community. I would not be the kind of Christian I am today had it not been for his leadership in my years of study at Southern.
Through Dr. Mohler’s ministry my life has been changed. I used to have a liberal bent in my walk with Christ, but through his preaching and leadership at SBTS I now think, preach, minister, lead, and live according to the Scriptures. I am so thankful for his leadership and uncompromising stand on the Word of God. My eternity, as well as others, will never be the same.
Dr. Mohler’s ministry has been an encouragement to me as he is not afraid to address hard topics in a culture of ‘politically incorret’ or error. I know he is a man, but I appreciate many of his resources, and send them as links or pdf’s frequently, I was not aware of these books and look forward to participating in this contest.
I’m from Puerto Rico. My dad raised me in the baptist church but later we had to move to another city. In that city my dad came elder of a church based on baptist theology. But later to 15 years later, for doctrinal problems with the church, my dad move from this church to a Reformed Presbyterian Church (OPC). It was very good for Him and my family but I was raised in a baptist church. In the issue of salvation is the same, saved by grace, but in the issue of the Covenant theological view, are quite different and is their base for the paedo-baptism. I’m respectful to the presbyterian brothers and I love them, but in that days I read and read the Bible, books, commentaries, sermons and articles, to understand where I’m from and in my conscience, what was my best understanding of Scripture about that. God use Dr. Albert Mohler to help me with his Radio Programs, his sermons in STBS and his participations that Baptist Church is and will be ever my home and the place where I want to raise my children. Specifically in the sermons at STBS of the Ten Commandments was when I came to the Spiritual Understanding of this things. SOLI DEO GLORIA.
In addition to Dr. Mohler’s strong stand for the truth, I’ve been encouraged by his twitter activity- he’s a funny guy.
Dr. Mohler has been an inspiraton to me for a long time. However, of late, he has become more than that. He is THE Southern Baptist statesman of our day. I am thankful for his leadership at Southern, on the Great Commission Task Force and in the general Christian community. Besides, I follow him on Facebook. Quite revealing. He is a president of THE Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, reads more books in a week than many read in a year (or a lifetime) and still, through Facebook (and his “tweets”) one sees that he is a real person. Funny too. I love him in the Lord!
I have been a missionary going on 23 years in Brazil. I confess, that leaving a son at Boyce College was not easy several years ago. Yes, even missionaries have fears and doubts, especially when it comes to our off-spring. To us, the USA is now a strange, foreign land.
I had prayed (I still pray) that God would send a strong Christian influence into my son’s life. Little did I know that God would use an accident to attract the attention of the president’s office, and the president of the SBTS, to my son. That contact would later develope into a friendship and mentorship unlike any other that my son would receive elsewhere.
I praise God for Dr Albert Mohler,Jr. as he has become a key figure in the life of my son, now 26, and his family. Dr Molher has become a “father figure” to my son and daughter-in-law, and an “uncle” to my grandchildren. He knows them better than I. He is the mentor that encourages my son through his personal life.
While most would tout acolades on Dr Mohler’s academic, intellectual, and filisophical views, I veiw him as a family man, a kind warm husband to Mary, his wife, and a great dad to his own children. He is showing my son, thru his Godly , biblical, daily actions, how to be a dad, a husband… how to be a man of God!
While some would look at this relationship with envious eyes, I praise God for it, for once more God has answered my prayer. He sent Dr Albert Mohler, Jr. to my son, and my son’s family. I am grateful indeed.
I came to pastor the Gum Springs Baptist Church of Moncure, NC in the Sandy Creek Assn. 10/72 In the Spring of ’73 I had the privilege of speaking to the Sandy Creek Pastors’ Prayer Meeting on the subject, A Great Awakening. At that time we were praying for a revival. I began to pray for a Third Great Awakening as I knew something of the history of Sandy Creek Assn. and how the founder of the church and assn, Elder Shubal Stearns had been converted in the First Great Awakening in Mass under the great evangelist George Whitefield. The church begun in 1755 and the Assn some 2-3 yrs later, would become the means of making the South a Baptist Kingdom. They would experience the Second Great Awakening, and the founding pastor of Gum Springs Church, Elder Hezekiah Harmon (converted 1798) would be baptized during that Awakening of 1801. He would serve on the committee which drew up the Confession of Faith of 1816. That committee was chaired by Luther Rice, and another member of the committee was Basil Manly (later Sr.) who had been converted about a year before. Manly would be licensed to preach by the Rock Springs Church, 4-18-1818 and go on to SC and to pastor FBC Charleston. Out of this 1816 annual meeting would come the Great Century of Missions (Latourette’s title for his book on the 1800d mission effort) as well as the theology (along with the Century {1689 London & Phila. 1742) Confession held by the FBC Charleston and Charleston Assn) which Dr. Mohler holds. There are apparently 3 things involved in a Great Awakening, and they are the Presence (“the invisible hand berin down in the assembles of the Separates”, Morgan Edwards 1771), the Theology (Soveeign Grace or Calvinism. Note J.P. Boyce called Basil Manly, Sr., a “Decided Calvinist”, the term “Decided” was used by James Taylor in the Memoirs to described the Sovereign Grace views of Luther Rice), and the Humility that derives inevitably from salvation by Sovereign Grace and is admirably summed in the most popular of all Christian Hymn which is admirably played upon the bag pipes at funerals, etc., by a Scotchman in Kilts, namely, Amazing Grace, which was written by a former Slave Ship Captain, who had once been a slave himself to a black woman and more to his own appetites until God in Sovereign Grace saved him. I refer to John Newton. For 36 yrs. I have prayed for another Awakening. Only this one, the Third one really I think, is to take the whole earth in one generation and every soul upon it to fulfill the promises to Abraham and all the promises recorded by Jonathan Edwards’ in his Humble Attempt which were pleaded by William Carey and others in the origins of the Great Century of Missions as well as the Second Great Awakening and by many in the past 50+ yrs (yes, I know of a minister who had been praying for that long for a revival). Having done 6 yrs. of research in Baptist and church history covering all 2000 yrs of church history especially as it involves the persecuted groups, and having written a Master’s thesis in American Social & Intellectual History on the subject, “The Baptists & Ministerial Qualifications:1750-1850,”and having prayed now these 36 years for the Third Great Awakeing, I have to ask, “Is not Dr. Mohler with his commitment to Sovereign Grace along with the Founders and those who hold Sovereign Grace but who have little or no connection with the Founders and those who preach Christ tasted death for every man according to the agreement made in the union of 1787 that such would be no bar to communion (which clearly imlies that the normal position is that He was sacrificied effectually for the Elect. Note also the confession of Mt. Pisgah Church of Sandy Creek (then) which sent out the first missioanry to China, Matthew T. Yates identified Christ only as dying for the church), an indication of the coming answer to the prayers of so many (including my self and as sorry as my praying is) that God is preparing to answer our prayers and take the whole earth for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ? And is not He, our Sovereign Lord and Saviour, going to do it in a way more free, most appealing, and as the woman said to our own Spurgeon, Dr.Gene Spurgeon, when he won her to Christ and he wanted to know why she responded so readily and quickly, “O it was so wonderful that I could not resist it,” so wonderful no one will be able to resist such a Being and such a salvation? I do not ask with the arrogance of a know-it-all. I ask with a sense of diffidence and fear and trembling, “Are we on the verge of the greatest outpouring of Heaven in the History of mankind, one springing from that first visit of our Lord Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, which shall fill the whole earth with His Knowledge and Glory as th waters that cover the sea?”
In the last year I have been challenged and encouraged when listening the the Al Mohler Radio Podcast. Last spring I also visited SBS where I was able to see the office where he works, and the campus that was just a wonderful place to visit and hear about the education and ministy that takes place there.
I have been blessed by Dr. Mohler in so many ways over the years. His love for the Bible and the passion he instills for standing for the truth is admirable. He is truly one of God’s gifts to the church in this generation.
Dr. Mohler is the president at the Seminary I attend. My husband is one of his interns as well. Dr. Mohler is such a blessing to the Southern Seminary community, to the Southern Baptist community, and to the fellowship of the Church. I am so blessed just to know Dr. Mohler, and my life has been greatly affected by his ministry.
I’m thankful for Dr. Mohler on two counts. One, for his direct ministry to me through his insightful commentary; and two, for his indirect ministry to me through my pastor, a graduate a of Southern Seminary.
I have been blessed my Dr. Mohler through his preaching and teaching in chapel and through the radio. However, I have been even more greatly blessed by what he has done at SBTS gathering a world class faculty that is staunchly conservative and academically rigorous. I am thankful that I was able to sit at the feet of these men, and continue to be influenced by them now that I am in the pastorate.
Thankful for Dr. Mohler’s commitment to the Bible and his leadership at Southern. From preaching to podcasts his ministry has enriched my life and encouraged my walk with Christ.
Dr Mohler obviously loves the Lord and that warms my heart. It opens my heart to hear what he has to say.

I have been blessed by Dr.Mohler’s ministry in so many ways. However, I think the most significant way is that I have developed a desire to do more Bible study and really learn what I believe and why I believe it. He is such a gift to the world of theology and apologetics.
I was introduced to Dr Mohler in a roundabout way…I overheard some liberals criticizing him. I figured he must be worth a look. He was.
A recent blog post by Dr Mohler on moralistic therapeutic deism made a signficant impact on my SS class…almost all of whom have kids in high school. It was an eye-opener for them, to say the least.
Dr. Mohler is one of the best, if not THE best, at taking the events happening around us and interpreting them from a biblical perspective. His application of scripture to things is incredible, and it has helped me know what I believe about things and how to defend that.
I have been very blessed by Al Mohler’s writings and sermons. Growing up in Asia and trying to understand the moral fabric of the Western society, Mohler has been a tremendous help to see things that really matter — most importantly how the Gospel is yet still relevant in the face of increasing evil in the world.
Thank God for Al Mohler!
nevewr read anything thing by him.Heard him on radio once and really liked him, winning books would help me tpo know him better and be blessed
I am looking forward to read Dr. Mohler’s books. The Lord is so good!
Hungry to eat His Word,

Dr. Mohler has helped me to think about a number of issues. I particularly enjoy his blog. He discusses issues that all Christians need to think through and he wonderfully informs his readers of a helpful way of doing that. I have never read or heard the entire story about how he “forced the pendulum to swing back the other way” on the campus of Southern, but am greatly encouraged by his passion for Jesus Christ.
I listen to Mohler’s radio program faithfully, but have not yet been able to read any of his books. This would be wonderful!
I’m a student at SEBTS and greatly appreciate Dr. Mohler’s leadership in the SBC. His stand for truth and love for Christ challenge me as I read his blog daily and listen to his broadcast whenever possible. He is a blessing!
I’ve been following Dr. Mohler’s blog for over a year. He has given me tons of practical advice for the ministry and my personal life.

Dr. Mohler is a great writer and has published many books on reformed theology. This past year I have been studying much reformed doctrine. These books would be welcome, especially since I am “between jobs” right now. I already have “The disappearance of God” but could use the other four.
I always enjoy reading Dr. Mohler’s blogs, and I learn a lot from them. I deeply admire and respect him, and, Lord willing, I will have the opportunity to learn more from him soon as I am planning on enrolling at SBTS this spring! These books have been on my reading list for a while now – it would be great to receive them for free!
Dr Mohler’s biblical worldview insight and desire to see God’s truths be spread to everyone has truly inspired me to not stay on the sidelines but to be involved in the battle. Because of the honorable man he is, I have enrolled in his seminary to study under people of his same character and knowledge to be a college pastor and my wife is doing likewise for next spring. I would love to add his books to my collection.
Mohler is an outstanding leader, theologian and preacher. And he also looks cool in his academic robes and Roy Orbinson sunglasses – as anyone standing outside chapel on Tuesday morning would have noted …
While I haven’t seen much beyond articles posted on the web, I always appreciate a man who defends the faith. It would be helpful to me to learn more about Dr. Mohler and what he believes. Plus, who doesn’t like free books.
I’d love to have those books for my husband/pastor, but I just won one of your give aways. Wanted to comment anyway, we are “fans” of A. Mohler and also listen to his radio program. Have a God graced week, Jody Gates
Dr. Mohler has been such a blessing to me because he is one of the best theologians and apologists but balances it with such a noticeable care for individuals. This balance has been a huge encouragement to me.
Dr. Mohler’s ministry has been a great blessing because his love for the gospel and for Truth is palpable. Whether reading an article or listening to him speak, I see it and, really, want more of that in my own life.
