Why would anyone use “The Message” as a ministry tool? It is not a legitimate Bible, but more of an interpretive work, a.k.a. a commentary. There are other, more fitting, Bibles for ministry use: ESV, NIV, NKJV, NASB. I that this site does put advertisements for good, solid versions as well. Unfortunately, “The Message” waters down many areas of Scripture. See Hebrews 10.31 as an example: “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (ESV) vs. “Nobody’s getting by with anything, believe me.” (TM)
