You are absolutely correct in that this book can be used at any time. "It just so happens" that it was next on my Puritan Paperback reading list that I am plodding my way through over time. Watson is one of the easier of the Puritans to read. When you do read it, I would love to know your thoughts. God bless.

I' d really like to read this book. I am a fan of puritan reading, even though it sometimes takes longer to read. I feel like a miner unearthing vast riches when I read one of these books.

I like the original title: "A Divine Cordial." It goes with what you mentioned at the end about Watson calling the love of God "a sovereign elixir of unspeakable comfort." I think we can use this book at any time of our Christian life, not just when we are struggling.

Thanks for the review. I'll look for this one.
