Review/Recommendation

I was fortunate to be able to read an early manuscript of this book.  When I did, I was blown away by the content!  Trevin offers keen insight into how we can live a Christ-exalting lifestyle in the midst of the “Caesar’s” of our day.  When you are said to have “Francis Schaeffer-like instincts and insight,” the bar has been set fairly high.  Wax easily lives (and writes) up to those standards.

As I read and re-read Holy Subversion, I was reminded of another book I read in college, Total Truth by Nancy Pearcey–who actually studied under Francis Schaeffer.  Total Truth was foundational to my Christian walk in that it challenged the reader to live out his or her Christianity in every area of one’s life.  Trevin Wax offers yet another call to living a total Christian life.  We must be aware of the Caesar’s of our day if we are to live a wholly Christian lifestyle.

Just as I recommend Total Truth to every college student I know and talk with, so, too, will I recommend Trevin’s Holy Subversion.  Not only that, this book makes for an excellent group discussion book.  Filled with practical insight all based on Scripture, Holy Subversion is a short, succinct book that will have lasting impact on its readers.
