Review

Maggie writes thirty-nine musings (yes, they are really musings) directing the reader towards the peak of the mountain; i.e., God. Pretty much every emotion the Christian experiences is encapsulated by the pen of Ms. Woychik. The beginning of her musings actually start at the end…of her self. Once the Christian denies self (Lk. 9:23), the journey to the top begins. Along the way, there will be pitfalls and there will be darkness, but rest assured, there will be joy and excitement as the traveler learns more about the great God he longs to know intimately.

The entire journey takes place climbing a mountain. Some of the musings include conversations with the Shepherd or other “pilgrims” on their travels. In writing like this, Maggie very much offers a modern-day Pilgrim’s Progress though this is a far cry from perhaps the greatest book of all time aside from the Bible.

I Run to the Hills is a gut-level, honest perspective of the daily Christian life. As you read, you will find yourself agreeing with many of her perspectives.
