In these horrendous times of uncertainty, do we have another controversial movement facing us? satan (his name is not worthy to be capitalized), will use every tactic that he can to distract us from the true word of God.
If we would just pray for understanding, God will reveal His perfect plan for us through His word, the Bible, without all of the controversy. If His word was good enough for the disciples, then it is good enough for me.
The Emergent Church is a dangerous and gross misrepresentation of Biblical Christianity, it presents a false and watered down gospel that has no ability or power to bring the lost sinner to repentance. Really Post-Modern (Emergent) thought is illogical! Nobody would want a post-modern doctor, would they? How about post-modern logic while driving a car, buying groceries, or flying a plane? There is simply no practical application to this philsophical (non-Christian) worldview. Jesus didn’t suffer and willingly lay His life down on the cross so we could have better “community” (whatever that is) and be more inclusive toward the culture, but to satisfy His Father’s just wrath on humanity, so that He could show us mercy and grace by redeeming the sinner, and to bring Himself glory and honor in doing so! Now, I’m not saying all Emergents are lost sinners, but I am saying that a great majority in that movement dangerously close to the edge of Hell’s pit. We must reclaim the church from this philosphy and proclaim truth through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. As Paul said, “…How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And How will they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14) We must not shy away from truth, grace and peace!
The Emergent movement is not good. I can’t say much more.
I would like to have more answers in engaging the emergent church. Perhaps this book can provide the answers.
